Greenwood Puppies is located on an small acreage in Minnesota. We have no children except for our four-legged furry ones.
We strive to produce the highest quality pet and family member for your household. Our puppies have brought light, and much needed happiness to many of their new parents.
We have been raising Yorkshire Terriers since 1995 and Shih Tzus since 1997.
One question we sometimes get is “Why do you have two breeds”? Well, we have a few Shih Tzu because in some cases a Yorkie wasn’t the right choice for the new prospective parents and their lifestyle. We have 3 sets of parents that run home daycares and we just didn’t believe that a Yorkie was the right choice for them.
Why Shorkies you ask? Well if you can’t tell by now, I love Yorkies and Shih Tzus equally.
I was once asked if I had to choose what breed would I choose. I honestly told them I couldn’t. So what better way to fix my problem then to make a shorkie. Because with a shorkie you have the best of both breeds.
I still love my yorkies but for people who can not afford a yorkie or in some cases (have young children) the shorkie or shih tzu might be a better option.
These babies and new parents have brought much happiness to our lives and this experience has been a learning and joyous one.
