GREENWOOD PUPPIES

Our Guarantee

This document is not made to scare the buyer but to protect both the buyer and the breeder. This is so both the buyer and breeder know what is required according to the Minnesota Law.

As a breeder, we must be contacted when there is a minor or major illness/issue and we require that you do so before treatment. That way our vet can work with your vet. It is possible that some of the problems can be solved without visiting a vet. If this is not done with life threatening problems this guarantee is null and void. If it is a 911 type emergency, we want you to get your dog to the vet before contacting us, but while the dog is being stabilized you must contact us so we may speak with that vet.

All vaccinations and worming’s that are documented HAVE been administered as recorded by the breeder. These records are true and accurate and not a “falsified” document.

Buyer has 72 hours upon receipt of puppy to have puppy examined by buyers vet at the expense of the buyer.

If a life threatening Illness is found, breeder must be contacted and a written statement from the vet, registration papers (signed over to breeder in event of refund or replacement), and the puppy must be returned to the breeder within 48 hours of diagnosis.
Breeder will offer one of the following three options:

Full refund on purchase price of puppy (breeder will not refund any vet fee’s)
Discounted Price on puppy if buyer decides to keep said puppy
Replacement puppy
If within one (1) year, the puppy has died or has a life threatening illness due to a Hereditary or Congenital defect (life threatening only – see second paragraph for information) the breeder will either:

Replace the puppy
Refund up to the purchase price of puppy (Such refunds are NOT to exceed the original purchase price of puppy)
If cause of death is unknown or not proven, an autopsy (which is proper procedure) is required with written documentation given to breeder with proven cause of death. If documentation is not provided this guarantee is null and void.

During the course of the “one year guarantee” your puppy must obtain all shots, wormings, rabies and any medications recommended by your Vet and administered by your Vet according to the puppy’s age. Heartworm preventative is optional. You must keep a record of an and all such treatments.

This guarantee is null and void if said puppy is sold within one year of purchase.

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE AGAINST PARVO, CORONA, WORMS, COCCIDIOSIS, PARASITES, HYPOGLYCEMIA, COLDS, DIARRHEA, or LACK OF OBSERVATION ON PUPPIES EATING OR DRINKING (starvation or illness due to lack of nutrition), or any known natural occurring puppy diseases, that are preventable by puppy Vaccine’s.

We can not guarantee the size, color, temperament or breeding ability of your puppy. I can however give a good determination as to size and color due to knowing the bloodlines of our dogs and from previous litters.

All new owners must also print and sign a SPAY & NEUTER AGREEMENT at the same time a Health Guarantee and Deposit Contract are submitted unless otherwise stated by Greenwood Puppies. You can find a copy of the Deposit Contract and the Spay & Neuter Agreement below. There is also a button at the bottom of the page to download and print all three documents to sign and return to Greenwood Puppies.

Spay/Neuter Agreement

This agreement is legal and binding. If purchasing a puppy as “pet only” you will be required to have your puppy spayed/neutered before any registration papers are received by the purchaser. Registration papers on dog or puppy will be withheld until notification of altering of the animal is received and verified.

Permanent ownership of this dog is contingent upon your compliance with this Addendum. Proof of the spay/neuter must be received by the PURCHASER within twenty-one (21) days after the surgery. In the event that the dog’s health does not
allow this agreement to be honored, Greenwood Puppies must be provided with a statement from your veterinarian that this dog is not yet in physical or emotional condition for surgery. Based upon the veterinarian’s evaluation of this dog the purchaser will contact the veterinarian and establish the earliest date that the procedure can be performed. PURCHASER will notify the BREEDER of this amendment in writing, at which time all other conditions of this agreement will apply and be enforced.

This is the responsibility of the PURCHASER, not the veterinarian, to ensure that Greenwood Puppies has received verification that the surgery has been performed. Failure to comply with this agreement by the date below, unless otherwise agreed to in writing, will be considered a breach of the Contract, and PURCHASER will transport this dog back to Greenwood Puppies and will not be entitled to a refund.

By my signature below, I agree to have this dog spayed/neutered by no later than__________________________, and I understand that this spay/neuter agreement is an agreement that this dog will not produce a litter of puppies either as purposely bred or by accidental breeding. I also agree that should puppy not be altered that I will return said puppy back to Greenwood Puppies with no refund.

SPAYING OR NEUTERING YOUR DOG IS HEALTHIER FOR THEM
Neutering a male eliminates the possibility of testicular tumors and efficiently reduces the chance of prostate problems. Neutering decreases the chance of tumors and hernias, which are in older, unneutered males. Neutered males are less likely to escape a yard and find a female in heat. This reduces the chance of them being hit by cars, getting into fights or lost.

Females spayed before their first estrous cycle reduces her chance of mammary tumors, ovarian cancer and uterine infection. A spayed female eliminates the neighborhood stray males from coming over or through your fence to breed with her.

Spaying and neutering before sexual maturity has a temperament benefit. Males neutered early in life tend to be less aggressive. Neutered males are less likely to mark in the house. A spayed female does not have hormonal mood swings and will make a far superior pet. A female with a litter can become very aggressive. Spaying makes your female a better companion.
